In Memoriam: Momofuku Ando
The inventor of instant noodles, Momofuku Ando of Nissin, has passed away.
Yes, we know all those doubts about its nutritiousness, but come on, people, admit it: at some point in your life, you were frickin’ grateful - grateful! - for a humble serving of freeze dried noodles resuscitated in water!
I know that they definitely kept me going in university, especially late at night after mugging, or… or just late at night when I was kinda snacky. Here’s a nice appreciation in the New York Times.
Tonight, we will slurp in honour of you, sir!
